AMSTERDAM, 19 January 2012… TV 538 transmits entertainment, news, live in-studio performances, interview and events; presented by the jocks of Radio 538, the number one hit music radio station of the Netherlands. The live transmissions come from the TV/radio studio semi-automatically.  SLAM!TV is television for and by young people. A 24/7 interactive TV channel with the most popular music clips. SLAM!TV is founded by SLAM!FM, Holland’s youngest radio station.

The two new successful TV channels ‘TV 538’ and ‘SLAM!TV’ are powered by VidiGo Playout. On these cable channels, clips are mixed with live content from the studio, and special focus is placed on social media integration. With its choice for VidiGo, 538 has chosen an in-house solution. The live content is created semi-automatically with VidiGo Live.

Alexander Josiasssen, operation manager 538: The flexibility, functionality and quality which VidiGo Playout in combination with VidiGo Live offers in the radio studio, is simply fantastic. The system enables us to create playlists in an easy and flexible way via open XML. The powerful built-in VidiGo Graphics engine and the high quality images complete the picture. TV becomes more and more important for 538. In the near future people will see a lot more of us!

VidiGo Playout offers excellent possibilities for modern TV channels that, besides video, also want to embrace interactive graphics and social media. Thanks to Adobe Flash it is very simple to realize all kinds of links. In addition to databases, data can also come from RSS feeds, Twitter or Facebook.

Marcell Mijwaart, manager TV 538 & SLAM!TV: “The possibilities which VidiGo Playout offer are a perfect match to the ideas we have for our channels. It is not nearly enough to play a number of music videos. A mix of clips, live content and interactive layers enables us to offer attractive TV”.

Reinout Lempers, CCO VidiGo: “VidiGo Playout is a new product in the successful VidiGo product line. Again we show that making TV can be simple, flexible and cost-effective. On the NAB we will launch VidiGo Playout internationally.”
