While the Flash based graphics for broadcast communicate with ease with any online source ranging from webfeeds to external TCP/IP devices, there is a growing need for a more effective solution when using GPI signals. Many GPI solutions require high level programming skills to be able to interact with them.
For this problem we have developed an easy to implement software solution. VidiGo Graphics now adds support for PCI-express Adlink GPI interfaces via the VidiGo GPI Host.
This utility translates the GPI signals in easy to use TCP/IP commands for direct use in any actionscript driven graphic. Next to using GPI triggers to drive graphics, the tool can also be used to send out GPI signals to other systems just as easy.
If, like your editor, you wonder what GPI is, GPI stands for General Purpose Interface. There are two types of GPI connections, outputs and inputs. Via these connections you can control, for example video effects equipment such as a vision mixer or a video title generator. The VidiGo GPI Bridge allows you to control a GPI connection.
